How to Enable Power Pivot in Excel

Powerpivot in excel is an add-in automatically pre-installed in MS Office 2013 + (all you need to do is add it to the ribbon). It is not present in previous Office release therefore it is needed to download it, install and then allow.

Enabling Power Pivot in Excel

  1. Download add-in from following URL (Windows 7 version)
  2. Choose add-in in your version of OS (32 v. 64 bit) and install it
  3. Launch Excel
  4. In settings – add-ins choose “COM model add-ins”
  5. Allow Powerpivot and check if it is in the ribbon now

To allow add-in in Excel 2013 follow steps 4 and 5 only.
